Located in Northern Virginia near some of its major private law firm customers in Washington, D.C., SIMA markets its library-automation software (library catalog, serials management with acquisitions and accounting, interlibrary loans) to libraries throughout the country.

SIMA library software is designed to be highly scalable; thus, it works efficiently in large, medium-sized and small libraries. Flexible, full featured and extremely easy to use, SIMA programs are employed not only in the United States but also in foreign branch offices of some U.S. law firms.  

SIMA has provided library services such as loose-leaf filing to law libraries in metropolitan Washington, D.C. since 1983. As law libraries embraced technology in the late 1980's and throughout the 1990's, SIMA designed and developed cost-effective software to help automate libraries and improve their productivity.

In 1999, SIMA became one of the very first Application Service Providers among library vendors. Since then, all SIMA library programs have been available for Web access and operation via the innovative SIMAnet system.
